There is no level of government that is more directly responsible for serving our community needs than our local elected officials. Local governmental policies effect almost every aspect of our daily lives from school quality to property taxes to public safety. By voting in local elections, we hold our officials accountable. By voting we create the change.

Our chapter in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha invited all local candidates running for State Senate, State Representative, Commissioners, State Attorney, Supervisor of Elections, Judicial Seats and Sheriff offices in the 2016 election. Our purpose was to introduce and educate the community on all candidates running for office. We also reviewed all constitutional amendments that were on the primary ballots for the primary and general elections.
