Physical and Mental Health

As an organization of predominantly African American women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is uniquely positioned to impact not only the well-being of its membership, but also the well-being of families and communities at large. Journey to Wellness:  Committing our Bodies to Physical and Mental Health is now the signature Physical and Mental Health “call to action”.

World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is on the 1st of December every year. Our chapter stands with the world to unite in the fight against HIV, support people living with HIV and commemorate people who have died. Specifically with the partnership of the Female Health Company, and Broward County Health Department we provide our community with free testing and means of protection.

Relay for Life

This is a national initiative in partnership with American Cancer Society. We participate in Relay for Life held at various parks early in such cities that we service like Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, and Deerfield Beach.

The Delta S.I.Z.E.D.

Sorors, Invigorated, Zealous, Energized, and Determined for physical activity. The sorority is committed to integrating physical activities during all of our conventions, conferences and state meetings. The challenge is a competitive physical activity with the goal of inspiring the membership to adopt a healthy eating and physically active lifestyle. The objective is to encourage all Deltas to take increased “steps” on their Journey to Wellness. Our top 2017 winners are LaCresha Cooper, Tundra King, and Vicki Hill.
